The Facilities
TCIS is located on a ten and one-half acre garden campus in the center of
Daejeon, a rapidly developing city with a population of 1.6 million. The
Daedeok-Science Town area is considered one of the most important centers
for scientific research and development in Korea and Northeast Asia. The
Korean KTX “high-speed” rail services the city and makes travel
throughout the country simple and efficient. Daejeon is Korea’s “Second
City” with several central government offices located in the Doonsan
district.
School facilities include a new five-storey high school building with
twenty new classrooms, including four science lab/instructional areas,
a guidance center, and a health and first aid center; all are equipped
with
excellent resources and provide ample space for interactive, collaborative
learning. A new administrative building is attached to the high school
building. The high school and administrative building features high-speed,
wireless
technology.
Additional facilities on the campus include an elementary building,
an auditorium building with fine arts classrooms, an info-tech building
with
two libraries and two computer labs, a nursery and residence program
office building, and a gymnasium. The middle school is located in
a designated area
of the campus and currently consists of temporary classrooms. Plans
have been made for a new middle school building with construction
to begin soon
as part of the ongoing ten-year campus development plan. Three on-site
dormitories, a residence program clinic, a laundry facility, and a
cafeteria primarily
serve our residence students. Three additional dormitories are located
off campus within a five-minute walk of the school.
