High School Athletics

TCIS is a proud and long standing member of the Korean-American Interscholastic Activities Conference (KAIAC). The “Dragons” currently compete in girls’ and boys’ volleyball, tennis, basketball, soccer, cross-country, swimming, and cheerleading. Serveral of these sports compete both on varsity and junior varsity levels. TCIS has joined a new activities conference called the Asia Pacific Activities Conference or APAC. TCIS has been a member of the Korean-American Interscholastic Conference or KAIAC since its inception in 1972 and will continue to be; however, the school has sought to provide its students additional international experiences in all aspects of its programming. The APAC experience will give TCIS students a greater opportunity to interact with international students and their families. This will happen not only through the athletic tournaments and fine arts festivals but also through home-stays in other countries and by hosting of international students on the TCIS campus and in our families’ homes. Each year our students potentially will travel to Japan, China, Hong Kong, and the Philippines for APAC athletic and fine arts events. TCIS is one of only eleven quality Asia international schools that are members of APAC. The other member schools include: Brent International School (Philippines); Canadian Academy (Japan); International School of Beijing (China); Seoul Foreign School (Korea); Shanghai American School-Puxi (China); American International School of Guangzhau (China); Concordia International School of Shanghai (China); Shanghai American School-Pudong (China); Western Academy of Beijing (China); and Hong Kong International School (Hong Kong, China).
