Meet the Residence Staff

Because all our staff are practicing Christians, we are committed to sharing our faith with students in word and deed - exposing all students to Christ and discipling those who follow Jesus.

Mr. Brent Frazier Residence Life Director

I am a product of the late 50’s, born in Nigeria, West Africa; I am one of seven children raised by Baptist missionaries, Don & Ina Frazier, who have both gone on to be with God. I consider myself blessed to be a part of such a committed Christian family and to have learned such important values for life. I attended various African national schools while living in Nigeria including boarding school for five years at Hillcrest International School located in Jos Nigeria, where I was taught many responsibilities, and learned to become a very independent person. My college experience was much easier due to the fact I had lived in a boarding situation prior to attending college. Attending boarding school I believe shaped my life and made me more flexible. Although I was unable to graduate with my classmates in Nigeria, I was blessed to complete my high school career in the same town where I would meet my wife, Jo. I attended Carson Newman College and received my commission as a Second Lieutenant in the U.S. Army National Guard. During my time in the National Guard, I commanded two units, and held several other leadership positions during my eleven years of service in the military. I completed my undergraduate degree from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. Jo and I were married in 1980, and within five years we had two children, Tyler, and Drew who both attended and graduated from TCIS.  After marrying, my first job was working in a packing house in a supervisory role for eight years, followed by my wife and I owned, operated and managed a small business together with three employees in Piedmont, Tennessee for several years. From Tennessee we moved to New Orleans where I worked as a ramp supervisor for Southwest Airlines while attending and finishing my undergraduate degree and have since completed a graduate degree in Organizational Leadership from Philadelphia Biblical University. We answered God’s call to serve as dorm parents at TCIS in July of 1993 and the rest is history. My wife and I served as dorm parents for seven years in the on-campus dorm where the cafeteria and kitchen share that building. We started a second off-campus dorm in 1997 and I was appointed as the Residence Life Director while still dorm parenting. Several years later when we built a four story two-dorm complex on campus my family moved out of the dorm and I became the full time Residence Director for the program in 2000. I was involved in the beginning with the start up of the boarding program at GSIS and have been serving as the Residence Life Director since the inception of that school. Since 1997, we have added several dorms to the TCIS program and have settled on a five on-campus dorm model at our new Techno Valley school site. I now share the administrative role in the boarding program with my colleague Larry Smith, I teach a PE class on the school side as well as coach varsity tennis and soccer for the school. My wife and I consider Daejeon our home, and we live in Expo and are enjoying serving our Lord at Taejon Christian International School.

Midkiff Residence - Contact

Kevin and Lorilynn Midkiff have served as dorm parents at TCIS for the past 7 years. They have three children of their own. Their oldest son Tanner graduated with an IB diploma from TCIS and attends university in Canada. Their other two children, Austin and Summer, attend the high school at TCIS and love their involvements in the school. The Midkiff’s have been married for over 20 years and have been involved in youth ministry for most of those years. Their early years were spent as Youth Pastor’s where they realized they had a deep desire to work with and influence the lives of young people. This desire eventually led them to become foster parents where they continued to fulfill that dream. In 2005, the Midkiff family moved to South Korea to serve the families and dorm students of TCIS. They found that they love the ministry and students of TCIS and have served in that role ever since. They have served as dorm parents in both a co-ed and an “all boys” dorm environment and currently facilitate the only “all boys” dorm on campus. Kevin has a degree in Bibllical Studies but has found an interest in studying the Korean language. He currently studies Korean while Lorilynn continues her studies in Human Services.

The Murphys are a newly married couple that currently serve both in Loween and Midkiff dorms. Erin has been at TCIS for two years, now going on a third, while Danny is serving in his second year. Erin is originally from a small and quaint town named Dubois, Pennsylvania, while Danny grew up in the south in a small suburb home in Fayetteville, North Carolina. Erin is the second child of three ( two brothers), and grew up in a home that consisted of mostly Western culture, with a strong presence of Christian values and atmosphere. Danny grew up as an only child in a multi-cultural home, his father being Western and mother being of Korean descent. Both met at a small Christian college in northeast Georgia called Toccoa Falls College. Erin majored in cross-cultural studies with a minor in TESOL, a major and minor that opened up doors to Korea initially, as she worked a year as a hagwon English teacher in Seoul before coming to TCIS. Danny majored in counseling/psychology, in which soon after graduating, went to Union University to get his BS in nursing. He worked as an intensive care nurse for two years before coming to Korea to join the TCIS dorm family. They are both excited to continue to serve as resident assistants, along side some great dorm parents, and look forward to continue to aid in the process of growing students to be well-rounded, God-fearing young men and ladies.
