The Residence Program
At TCIS we see our residence program as a service ministry to families who desire a international-based education. Because all our staff are practicing Christians, we are committed to sharing our faith with students in word and deed - exposing all students to Christ and discipling those who follow Jesus.
We realize that the choice to use a boarding program is a serious one for a family to make. Therefore, we strive to make our dorms as family-like as possible, through loving and professional staff, comfortable dorms, caring supervision, and a variety of activities. We believe that dorm staff and parents should work together, communicating often concerning the welfare of their children.
Alongside our emphasis on family is a strong commitment to professionalism. Our dorm staff members are college-educated, many with backgrounds in education or youth ministry. Additionally, our staff undergo psychological evaluation, background checks, and two weeks of extensive training before they even arrive at TCIS. The staff meet often for professional development: learning CPR and first aid tips, discussing student concerns, and being trained on boarding and counseling skills.
