International Baccalaureate (IB)
Founded in 1968, the IB is an international educational foundation headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland. The IB offers four educational programs for children ages 3–19 and provides support, direction, and curriculum templates for the delivery of best-practice in education. The IB organization also provides TCIS with ongoing external accountability for school curricular improvement. The IB is well-respected by universities globally and is recognized as one of the most rigorous and holistically-effective curriculum structures today.
- TCIS is a fully-authorized Three Programme World School
- TCIS was the first school in Korea authorized to offer three IB programs (PYP, MYP and DP).
Western Association of Schools and Colleges
WASC is one of six official academic bodies responsible for the accreditation of public and private universities, colleges, secondary and elementary schools in the United States and foreign institutions of American origin. The Western Association of Schools and Colleges has within its jurisdiction over western US States, Pacific territories and areas of the Pacific and East Asia where American schools or colleges may apply to it for service. WASC accreditation provides TCIS with ongoing external accountability for school-wide improvement, as well as validity of TCIS transcripts sent to USA colleges/universities.

Association of Christian Schools International
TCIS is a member school of ACSI, with accreditation for our Residence Program. Our accreditation provides the school with external accountability for ongoing program improvement, but it also networks us with Christian schools and connects us with the growing Christian national school movements around the world. TCIS is the first boarding program in Korea to be accredited by ACSI.
Association for Supervision & Curriculum Development
The ASCD is the global leader in developing and delivering innovative programs, products, and services that empower educators to support the success of each learner. This non-profit organization has 125,000 members—superintendents, principals, teachers, professors, and advocates from more than 138 countries. The ACSD's diverse, nonpartisan membership is its greatest strength, projecting a powerful, unified voice to decision makers around the world. The association provides TCIS and all its affiliates with data and innovative solutions for professional development, capacity building, and educational leadership essential to maintaining a faculty that is cutting edge in educational best practice.
College Board International
College Board is an American private nonprofit corporation that was formed in 1900 to expand access to higher education. While it is not an association of colleges, it runs a membership association of institutions, including over 6,000 schools, colleges, universities and other educational organizations. The College Board develops and administers standardized tests (SAT, AP, TOFEL) as well as curricula used by K-12 and post-secondary education institutions to promote college-readiness and as part of the college admissions process.
- TCIS is a voting member of the College Board, giving input and feedback to the organization.
- TCIS is a registered and approved site for SAT I & II testing.
East Asia Regional Council of Overseas Schools
EARCOS is the largest regional organization of international schools in the world. It was organized to promote instructional development within schools in East Asia. This organization allows TCIS to be involved directly in ongoing dialogue about issues and best practice education in international schools both in East Asia and around the world.
National Association for College Admission Counseling
The NACAC, founded in 1937 in the USA, is an organization of more than 13,000 professionals from around the world dedicated to serving students transitioning from secondary to postsecondary education. It includes professional school counselors, college access counselors, admissions and financial aid officers, and others. The NACAC holds the National College Fairs program and the Performing and Visual Arts College Fairs program, which directly connect high school students with a wide variety of postsecondary institutions. Affiliation with the NACAP helps TCIS remain current in USA college admissions processes and with networks in the USA college admissions.
International Association for College Admission Counseling
The IACAC (formerly OACAC) was founded in 1991 as an affiliate regional organization to the NACAP, representing overseas counselors. Its membership is made up of nearly 600 professionals from around the world who advise students as they make choices about pursuing postsecondary education. This organization helps TCIS remain current on issues specifically regarding the admissions of overseas students in USA colleges. It also allows TCIS an active voice to those leading USA colleges and keeps TCIS connected with colleges in the USA who are seeking overseas students.
Republic of Korea, Ministry of Education
TCIS is registered with the Korean Ministry of Education and fully-licensed as a Foreign School in Korea. TCIS was the third such recognized foreign school in Korea. This relationship allows TCIS to have the full support of the Korean government in delivering international education in Korea.
WIDA International School Consortium
TCIS is a member of the WIDA International School Consortium for the qualilty teaching of English as an additional language. The WIDA International School Consortium is a community of accredited, PreK-12 international schools that use WIDA's research-based standards and assessments. Member schools are committed to developing inclusive programs that build on the assets of all learners, while transforming the conversation about what multilingual students can do. The Consortium provides access to resources, research and reciprocal learning opportunities with other member schools. The WIDA International School Consortium boasts approximately 500 members in more than 100 countries.
