Western Association of Schools and Colleges
Taejon Christian International School is fully accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC), one of six recognized agencies in the United States that evaluate the quality of education at public and private schools, colleges, and universities. WASC provides accreditation for schools across the western U.S., the Pacific islands, and parts of East Asia where American-style institutions are located.
This accreditation gives TCIS an important measure of external accountability and ensures that the school is continually improving. It also guarantees that TCIS student transcripts are recognized and accepted by colleges and universities in the United States.

International Baccalaureate (IB)
The International Baccalaureate (IB), founded in 1968 and based in Geneva, Switzerland, is a respected global education organization. It offers four programs for students ages 3 to 19, providing schools with well-developed curriculum frameworks and teaching strategies based on best practices. The IB also helps TCIS stay accountable with regular reviews and supports continuous improvement in how we teach. Known for its academic rigor and focus on the whole child, the IB is highly valued by universities around the world.

Association of Christian Schools International
TCIS is a member school of ACSI, with accreditation for our Residence Program. Our accreditation provides the school with external accountability for ongoing program improvement, but it also networks us with Christian schools and connects us with the growing Christian national school movements around the world. TCIS is the first boarding program in Korea to be accredited by ACSI.
Association for Supervision & Curriculum Development
TCIS is a proud member of ASCD, a global nonprofit that supports educators with tools to help every student succeed. With over 125,000 members—including school leaders, teachers, and professors from more than 138 countries—ASCD brings together a powerful, diverse network of education professionals.
Being part of ASCD gives TCIS access to innovative ideas and data that support professional development, leadership growth, and teaching excellence. This helps ensure that our teachers stay current with the best practices in education, always working to improve learning for all students.
College Board International
The College Board is a nonprofit organization in the United States that helps students prepare for higher education. Founded in 1900, it now works with over 6,000 schools, colleges, and universities worldwide.
The College Board creates and manages well-known programs like the SAT, Advanced Placement (AP), and TOEFL. These tools help students demonstrate their readiness for college and are widely used in the university admissions process. At TCIS, we use these programs to support academic growth and college preparation.
- TCIS is a voting member of the College Board, giving input and feedback to the organization.
- TCIS is a registered and approved site for SAT I & II testing.
East Asia Regional Council of Overseas Schools
EARCOS is the largest regional organization of international schools in the world. It was organized to promote instructional development within schools in East Asia. This organization allows TCIS to be involved directly in ongoing dialogue about issues and best practice education in international schools both in East Asia and around the world.
National Association for College Admission Counseling
The National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC) is a global organization of professionals who support students as they move from high school to college. Founded in the U.S. in 1937, NACAC members include school counselors, admissions officers, financial aid advisors, and college access professionals.
NACAC organizes major events like the National College Fairs and the Performing & Visual Arts College Fairs, connecting students directly with universities and colleges. As a member, TCIS stays updated on the latest U.S. college admissions trends and maintains strong connections with colleges across the United States.
International Association for College Admission Counseling
The IACAC (formerly OACAC) was founded in 1991 as an affiliate regional organization to the NACAP, representing overseas counselors. Its membership is made up of nearly 600 professionals from around the world who advise students as they make choices about pursuing postsecondary education. This organization helps TCIS remain current on issues specifically regarding the admissions of overseas students in USA colleges. It also allows TCIS an active voice to those leading USA colleges and keeps TCIS connected with colleges in the USA who are seeking overseas students.
Republic of Korea, Ministry of Education
TCIS is registered with the Korean Ministry of Education and fully-licensed as a Foreign School in Korea. TCIS was the third such recognized foreign school in Korea. This relationship allows TCIS to have the full support of the Korean government in delivering international education in Korea.
WIDA International School Consortium
TCIS is a proud member of the WIDA International School Consortium, supporting high-quality ESL education for multilingual learners. Through WIDA’s trusted standards and tools, we help students in Grades PreK–12 grow in English while honoring their cultural and language backgrounds.
