Approaches For Holistic Education

One of the things that TCIS prides itself on is creating a holistic educational experience that addresses all aspects of a child's growth. The IB curriculum lends itself very well for this, but there is so much more that goes into what we do than classroom learning. It is the TCIS mission to "cultivate internationally-minded learners who lead in purposeful change". To do this, we feel that we need to give students opportunities to build their character, to learn who they are and who they want to be, and encourage them to put time and effort into exercising themselves physically, mentally, socially, and spiritually.

Meaningful Opportunities

Students need to have meaningful life experiences to round out their learning. They need to have opportunities to succeed, to fail, and to learn the lessons that come with both. Students who become lifelong learners need to work at developing their passions. Students who would become loving individuals need to have the opportunity to actively care for others, while students who will become leaders need to have the opportunity to lead.

Extracurricular Activities Structure

TCIS provides a rich activities program for students of all ages. Opportunities are available for physical activity, faith and spiritual development, academic club involvement, conference sports, international competition and collaboration, a focus on STEM activities, and wide potential for investment in the arts. TCIS offers a broad range of opportunities for children to have meaningful experiences.
