Elementary SEW - Stewardship
Dragon Drop Stories September 24, 2024
Last week, our Elementary School celebrated Spiritual Emphasis Week with an incredible theme: Stewardship – Taking Care of God's World. This special week was designed to help our young students understand that stewardship goes beyond caring for the environment; it also means caring for the people around us, especially the vulnerable.
Throughout the week, students learned how God's Word can direct their actions, which no matter how small, can have a big impact on the world and the lives of others. Two highlight activities made this week unforgettable.
Our students had the opportunity to visit a nursing home for the elderly, spending quality time with them. It was a heartwarming experience for both the children and the residents. This visit not only brightened the day for the elderly but also taught our students the value of companionship and showing love to those who may feel isolated or lonely.
In another hands-on act of stewardship, our students rolled up their sleeves and made sandwiches to be distributed to the homeless in Daejeon. This simple act of service demonstrated to them the power of generosity and the importance of helping those in need.
This week was filled with learning, compassion, and reflection as our students gained a deeper understanding of what it means to be stewards of God’s creation. It was truly inspiring to witness the love and care they showed, and we are so proud of their commitment to making a difference in their community.
