Secondary School SEW Day One

Dragon Drop Stories  September 9, 2024

Guess what! It's SEW in Secondary School!

This morning saw the kick-off of this year's Spiritual Emphasis Week in grades 6-12. This is a high-energy, deep-diving event for celebrating God and community.

TCIS strives to cultivate learners holistically, in a way that prepares students to lead in purposeful change. We explore spiritual perspectives and engage in community involvement through a Christian faith standpoint. SEW is a beautiful way to invite everyone to join together in reflection and fun.

In this morning's opening session, our Student Life Coordinator introduced our guest speaker, Mr. Tito Diaz, and guest worship leader, Mr. Jimmy Reedy – both visiting from the USA just for this event. Our student Praise Team led the entire community in singing, and Mr. Larry invited the room to attempt a Korean TikTok challenge.

The rest of the three-day event will be spent in large-group speaking sessions, small-group sharing, singing, games, activities, and the annual STUCO Field Day and Water Games!

SEW is one of the most fun and most loved times of the year at TCIS. It is an incredible time to watch bonds form and the community grow closer. It's also a time when students really do stop and consider what it is that they believe, and why - which is something positive all around.

Have a fun few days, Secondary!
