Yesterday morning, TCIS elementary students and faculty celebrated the 100th day of school!
This fun milestone for the school year was a great time to have some fun, reflect on growth and learning so far, and reinforce the idea of community.
One big event in the celebration (one which we though was beautiful) was a "kindness scavanger hunt." All students went out into the grounds to look for hidden balls, each containing a slip of paper. Written on the paper was an act of kindness they could take in the elementary school. Rather than simply receiving prizes for finding a ball, students were rewarded for the acts of kindness that they then performed.
The elementary school also added an encouragement board to the head of the hallway, right next to the Kindness Tree, to record kindnesses witnessed this week.
Everything is an opportunity for learning – and if you believe as we do, you likely know that the fun lessons can be some of the most impactful.
Happy 100th Day of School, Elementary – and very kindly done!
