TCIS students are an active part of the United Cities and Local Governments (UCLG) World Congress in October 2022!
The UCLG is the world's largest international organization of local and regional governments recognized by the United Nations and consists of 240,000 local governments in 140 countries around the world.
More than 20 TCIS students have been selected for involved, supportive roles in this global event. As multi-cultural and multi-lingual Korean citizens with international school education, these students make fantastic ambassadors for Korea in global circumstances, where sure cross-cultural connections and communication are needed. TCIS students will will take part in communication, hospitality, and promotional efforts. They will also have full access to the sessions and presentations of the World Congress event and will experience an educational opportunity like no other.
TCIS students were officially appointed by the Secretary General of the Daejeon UCLG World Congress, Mr. Chae Gun Chung. Mr. Michael Moimoi expressed his pride for these TCIS student representatives, and the importance of international education for creating world leaders who can collaborate cross-culturally for the good of tomorrow's world.
The World Summit of Local and Regional Leaders, convened by the UCLG, is the largest gathering of mayors, presidents of associations, councillors, and local and regional practitioners from around the world. It also gathers the most influential local and regional leaders, councilors, local governments, partners, and actors implicated in the decision making of city and community life. Held every three years, Daejeon will host this seventh Congress in October.
Well-done and congratulations to these student ambassadors. What a fantastic commission and once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
