This week, we celebrated a special milestone as students received their official IB MYP Certificates—a recognition of their commitment, growth, and achievement throughout the Middle Years Programme.

 

Elementary Chuseok Celebration

This week, our elementary students gathered for an afternoon of celebration to welcome the Chuseok holiday! Together they enjoyed traditional Korean dancing, crafts, games, songs, and of course – delicious treats. 
 

Secondary School SEW Kick-off

This morning, our Secondary School kicked off Spiritual Emphasis Week (SEW)—three days set aside to reflect, connect, and grow together in faith and community.

This year’s theme is “Growth,” inspired by the parable of the seeds in Mark 4:1–20. Through this story, we’re exploring what it means to prepare our hearts and lives for growth that lasts.

TCIS Fall Community Cookout

This past weekend, our TCIS family came together for the annual Community Cookout — a tradition that reminds us how special it is to belong to something bigger than ourselves. It was a time to gather all TCIS stakeholders together, welcoming new families, reconnecting with those returning, and celebrating the bonds that make our entire community strong.
 

Grade 6 Photo Feedback Session

Our Grade 6 students recently hosted a unique feedback session as part of their Project-Based Learning unit, “The Forces that Shape Us.” In this unit, students have been exploring how natural, social, and personal forces influence our world and who we are. To capture their reflections, they are creating original photographs expressing these powerful themes.

 

NYU Visit to TCIS

 

This week, we were pleased to welcome New York University (NYU) to our campus to meet with our high school students. Already in these first few weeks of the semester, we’ve had the privilege of hosting the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST), the Savannah College of Art & Design (SCAD), and now NYU—with more visits still to come!

 

Merit Scholarship Award Winners 2025

 

We are proud to announce this year’s recipients of the TCIS BOT Merit Scholarship, awarded to high school students who demonstrate outstanding academic achievement, service, leadership, character, and passion.

 

Grade 11 Mountain Retreat

Last week, our Grade 11 students carried on a special TCIS tradition: the Junior Retreat in the mountains of Muju. Over the course of two days, students enjoyed time together in the outdoors while also preparing for the important journey ahead of them.

Grade 8 Sustainable Urban Farm Trip

Last week, our Grade 8 students stepped outside the classroom and into the world of innovation with a visit to an institute for sustainable farming. The trip tied directly into their interdisciplinary studies, where the theme of 'time' is guiding their learning this semester.
