Spiritual Life at TCIS

Spiritual life at TCIS is part of how students experience our Christian identity in everyday school life. Alongside classroom learning, students have opportunities to reflect, ask questions, worship, build relationships, explore faith, and consider how belief connects with the way we live.

For Christian students, these experiences can provide meaningful opportunities to grow in and practice their faith. Students from other backgrounds are also welcomed into a community shaped by Christian values such as love, respect, compassion, humility, service, and care for others.

Faith Within an International Community

TCIS brings together students from different cultures, nationalities, family backgrounds, and experiences of faith. Within that diversity, our Christian worldview provides a shared foundation for how we understand relationships, character, purpose, and responsibility toward others.

Spiritual Life programs create spaces where students can encounter these ideas beyond the classroom – sometimes together as a whole community and sometimes through smaller, more personal relationships.

Opportunities to Reflect, Participate, and Grow

Students encounter spiritual life in several different ways. Some experiences bring the school together for worship and reflection, while others allow students to participate more personally through music, mentoring, prayer, or student-led fellowship.

The goal is not simply to provide a series of religious events. It is to give students meaningful opportunities to consider questions of faith, identity, purpose, and the kind of person they are becoming.

Chapel

Chapel gives students and staff regular opportunities to gather as a community for praise, prayer, reflection, and learning. Faculty, students, and guest speakers all contribute, allowing students to hear a variety of voices while experiencing worship as part of the rhythm of school life.

Spiritual Emphasis Week

Spiritual Emphasis Week creates focused time for the community to explore Christian faith together. Through speakers, praise and worship, reflection, discussion, and community-building experiences, students are encouraged to engage thoughtfully with questions that connect faith with their lives and experiences.

Praise Team

Students with an interest in music can help lead praise and worship during Chapel and other school events. Under staff guidance, students take meaningful responsibility for areas such as song selection, musical style, and preparation while using their abilities to serve the wider community.

Discipleship

Many mentoring relationships develop naturally through everyday life at TCIS. Students who would like more intentional spiritual support can also be connected with a teacher for regular one-on-one conversations about faith, questions, and what it means to live those beliefs in daily life.

Fellowship

Fellowship provides student-led opportunities to meet, talk about life, encourage one another, and pray together. These smaller groups give students space to support one another personally while developing confidence in taking responsibility for their own faith community.

Faith Put Into Practice

Spiritual growth at TCIS is not separated from the rest of a student's experience. Faith is connected with relationships, character, service, reflection, and the way students treat the people around them.

Through both organized programs and everyday interactions, students are encouraged to think seriously about what they believe, how those beliefs shape their choices, and how they can live with greater compassion, integrity, and purpose.
