DP Art Trip to Bukchon & MMCA, Seoul
Dragon Drop Stories October 20, 2025
Our DP Visual Arts students recently traveled to Bukchon Hanok Village and the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art (MMCA) for a day of discovery, dialogue, and inspiration.
In Bukchon, students walked the narrow streets lined with traditional hanok architecture, observing how history and design converge in everyday life. Tucked among these heritage homes, they explored intimate art galleries that offered fresh perspectives on materials, storytelling, and the Korean aesthetic.
At MMCA, students engaged with contemporary works that challenge convention, provoke thought, and reflect modern vision — an essential experience as they develop their own voices as artists within the IB Diploma Programme.
We are thankful to be located in Daejeon, just a short trip from Seoul, where world-class cultural experiences are within reach – while maintaining our quiet atmosphere day-to-day. These opportunities enrich our students’ learning and help them Learn • Love • Lead through art that is connected and deeply human.
