Grade 6 Intro to Outdoor Program

This past weekend, our Grade 6 students launched into their first Overnight Outdoor Adventure Trip — the exciting first step in the TCIS Grades 6–8 Outdoor Program. Set right at the start of the school year, it was more than just a camping trip; it was a chance for new and returning students to connect, collaborate, and have fun while discovering the beauty of the outdoors together.

The Grade 6 focus — “Discovering the Outdoors” — introduces students to outdoor skills, teamwork, and shared challenges in a supportive environment. As they move up through Grades 7 (“Experiencing the Outdoors”) and Grade 8 (“Adventuring in the Outdoors”), they build confidence, practical skills, and a deeper appreciation for the natural world.

Outdoor programs like this are a wonderful addition to the sort of holistic learning that TCIS provides — helping students grow in resilience, leadership, and collaboration, while building memories that last a lifetime!
