Grade 7 Unit: Sipping Sustainably
Dragon Drop Stories October 28, 2025
Last week, our Grade 7 students brought learning to life in a most inspiring way – with a community pop-up event designed to raise awareness (and funds) for clean water access around the world.
As part of their “Sipping Sustainably” project-based learning unit, students explored a mix of subjects:
- Science: mixtures and solutions
- Math: proportions and pricing strategies
- Humanities: global water scarcity and geography
- English: persuasive speech and presentation
- Design: visual marketing and Adobe InDesign
Working in teams, students created original beverage recipes, crafted persuasive marketing strategies, and launched their drinks during a 90-minute sales event. The result was ₩257,000 raised – all of which will be donated to a student-selected nonprofit focused on clean water initiatives.
From idea to action, this project is a great example of how purposeful, integrated learning fosters real-world impact. We're so proud of how these young changemakers have taken their studies beyond the classroom—and into the community.
At TCIS, students don’t just learn about global issues—they use their learning and compassion to take the lead in addressing them.
