Gr.7 Water Safety & First Aid

Dragon Drop Stories  August 26, 2025

What does it mean to prepare students for the world beyond the classroom? At TCIS, it means giving them opportunities to build skills that matter in everyday life and in moments of challenge.

Last week, Grade 7 students immersed themselves in two vital experiences: water safety training in the pool and first aid training in the gymnasium. These sessions are more than just practice—they’re about learning to stay calm under pressure, to help others in need, and to take responsibility for their own safety and the safety of those around them.

Through our Outdoor Program, students learn that adventure requires preparation and that confidence comes from practice. Whether it’s facing the open water or responding to an unexpected situation, these skills give our students the courage to step into the world with resilience and care.

Every lap in the pool and every scenario in the gym was a step toward something greater: becoming leaders who are capable, compassionate, and ready to act. Programs like these remind us that education is about shaping not only strong minds, but also strong character.
