Grade 8 Outdoor & Activities Retreat

Dragon Drop Stories  September 8, 2026

Camping, canoeing, and cooking for themselves – last week’s Grade 8 Outdoor & Activities Retreat gave students the chance to take on new responsibilities while enjoying the outdoors together.

From setting up camp and paddling across the water to preparing their own meals, students practiced communicating, cooperating, adapting, and solving problems as a group. Along the way, there was also plenty of time for laughter, conversation, and shared memories.

The retreat challenged students purposefully, helping them grow in confidence and independence while strengthening friendships and belonging across the grade. These are the experiences that prepare students for what comes next – both in school and beyond it.
